SHABAN Kasozi Nyonyintono, the driver to UPDF Col. Ramadhan Kyamulesire, has been charged with kidnap with intent to murder.

Nyonyintono and his brothers, Hassan Lubega and Ali Kasozi, appeared before the Wakiso Court Grade I magistrate, Mariam Okello, but they denied the charges.

The magistrate granted them bail at sh300,000 each. They are accused of kidnapping their brother, Yahaya Matovu, 28, in an alleged ritual murder plot.

The trio were arrested after Kasozi’s grandmother, Mayimuna Ndagire, reported to the Police in Wakiso in February that Nyonyintono had threatened to kill her.

Ndagire said Matovu disappeared after a misunderstanding with Nyonyintono over the proceeds from the sale of a piece of land she had given to them.

Kampala Central MP Erias Lukwago accussed Kyamulesire, a UPDF representative in Parliament, of involvement in the plot. However, Kyamulesire, denied the accusations.
