CHESS - Mulago Kings Chess Club took control of the national league with an emphatic home 5-0 demolition of Mengo to underline their intention of winning the title that has eluded them for the last two years. The Kings’ force of Harold Wanyama, Patrick Kawuma, Kenneth Kakooza and Grace Nsubuga all notched wins against Mengo.

KCC looks to dislodge APR
VOLLEYBALL - Spiker Hassan Sekajoolo has tipped KCC Volleyball Club to end the reign of Rwanda’s APR men in the Genocide Cup in Kigali this weekend. The city lads have twice come third in the annual championship in memory of hundreds of thousands of Rwandans that perished during the genocide in the 1990s. The annual championship draws top teams from Kenya, DR Congo and Rwanda.

U-16 tourney on at Nakivubo

NETBALL - The U-16 netball championship starts today at Nakivubo stadium. The two-day event under the theme: “Developing netball from the grass roots” is the first ever on the Uganda Netball Federation calendar focusing on teenagers. According to secretary Ruth Rwakabaale, the federation is trying to turn focus on the teenagers.
