SINCE Klear Kut stormed the music scene in 2002, its members have been up and about. One member of this quartet, Navio (Dan Kigozi), is launching his own album tonight at Kati Kati restaurant. Tickets are selling at sh10,000. The show starts at 6:00pm.

Navio says there will not be any curtain-raisers. Instead, artistes like Julianna Kanyomozi (All I wanna Know), GNL Zamba (Salon), Bobi Wine (Bad Man), BLU*3 (Burrn), Peter Miles (Ruckus and Bugumu remix also featuring Vampino and Mith) and Jua Cali (Respect), whom Navio has worked with, will feature for cameos on those songs.

The show will feature a live band performance and DJ combination set by First Love & GK, alongside Klear Kut members Papito and The Mith.

Club Beer, the main sponsor, has injected sh35m in the event.
Dubbed, “Half the Legend,” the 15-track album, includes Ngalo, a crank joint Navio sampled while opening for Shaggy at the Orange Karnival concert.

Equally captivating are songs Otyo, Nekolera Gyange, Robbery, Focus, No Culcha, a reggae tinged track featuring Kidfox and Revolution featuring Maurice Kirya and The Mith.

Half the Legend, Navio says, represents Ugandan hip-hop that is only half-way the journey.

Navio has received both group and individual awards, including the PAM Award for Best hip-hop artiste last year, the Kora Award for Best hip-hop group in 2002 and the PAM awards for Best Hip-hop group in 2004.
