It is easy for the girl to recognise the people she knows

EDITOR—I wish to comment on the WBS ‘Vumbula’ programme aired on June 4 about the lost and found child.

I hope Mr. Drake Sekeba will read this letter.

The mother of the child says the girl could not talk but on the programme she said the girl can communicate.

Any child who has been somewhere for that long can identify and know the people she has been living with. Sekeba should get the girl’s mother and the girl herself and take her to Sarah in the presence of Sarah’s aunt the supposed lady where the mother thinks the girl had been taken. If the girl knows either of the two (Sarah and the aunt) she will either run to embrace them like she did when she saw her mother or will show some other signs that implicate them.

Child psychologists can be there to read the signs but the girl herself can talk, like the mother said. There is no one who can advise you to report the issue to media when they know they are going to implicate themselves or are part of the crime.

Sarah says she advised the girl’s mother to go to WBS in order to look for the child. Is it possible that the same Sarah being accused of having kidnapped the child would be willing to betray herself by advising the mother to report to WBS for help? Some of these things need common sense!
