- Teso residents will have a chance to watch the national team live when the Cranes take on a select side from Zone 1 on Saturday in the first of several upcountry tours. Federation technical director Asuman Lubowa yesterday confirmed the match at Katine ground. “We are going to summon the squad by Wednesday. It’s basically the players that made it to Ghana minus the professionals and those from Villa and URA since they have matches on Saturday,” Lubowa said.

Kato resigns UTF chair
- The Uganda Tae-kwon-do Federation UTF chairman Hakim Kato resigned on Sunday during a general assembly at Lee tae-kwon-do gymnastics club in Kibuli in the outskirts of Kampala.
Kato, who had spent two years in office after replacing Dr. David Mutansige in 2007, cited personal reasons for his resignation. But close sources charged that Kato’s dealings in the body were not transparent.
