Kitooke eyeing world crown
- South Africa based David Kitooke will on Saturday face Malawi’s Isaac “Golden Boy” Chilembe for the vacant World Boxing Organisation Africa light heavyweight title. The Ugandan, who is (10-1-1, 9 KOS), is going for his biggest fight since he moved to South Africa last year. Chilembi goes into the fight with a record of (12-1-0, 8 KOS). The fight is promoted by one of South Africa’s leading boxing promoter’s Rodney Berman.

Lubwana tops Entebbe show
- Nkumba University’s Alex Lubwana shrugged off strong opposition to win the beach woodball title on Sunday. Lubwama had 25 strokes in the final 6 gates at Lido beach in Entebbe. Richard Asimwe of Makerere University finished second at 28, three strokes better than Bank of Uganda’s Godwin Ssenyondo in the second round action. Victory in the women’s category went to UPDF’s Sylvia Nakanwagi at 31.

KAMACK in Aporu tourney
- KAMACK Volleyball Club from Teso North District in Kenya will make their maiden participation in the 17th Dr. Aporu Okol Memorial tournament June 13-14 at Kumi Boma ground. Kamack coach Gerald Olumasi said yesterday that the club formed in January and has proved a hard nut to crack, is ready to face any opposition.
