THE Rugby Cranes ended their Tusker Safari Sevens campaign yesterday at the semi-final stage of the Bowl Competition. The Ugandans fell 7-24 to 1998 Main Cup champions Bristol University.

The defeat was a bitter pill to swallow for coach Ronnie Lutakome who had hoped to at least win his first silverware after taking charge two months back.

“We shall go back to the drawing board and see where we went wrong,” Lutakome said after the team bowed out of contention at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa grounds.

It was a new look team that travelled. Only captain Michael Wokorach, Brian Kikawa and Jonathan Bishop Onen were here last year. “It has been a good chance to expose the players to world class talent,” Lukatome said.
