SOCCER - Buganda region football team that won the Inter Regions soccer Cup in Lira mid this month will host the Cranes at Bukalasa July 25.

SOCCER - Buganda region football team that won the Inter Regions soccer Cup in Lira mid this month will host the Cranes at Bukalasa July 25. Buganda region chairman Rogers Mulindwa said the venue was chosen to take the game to the grass-root fans. “We shall host the Cranes at Bukalasa. We want people down there to identify with the two teams. We are also drawing a programme to ensure the trophy remains in Buganda.”

GAMES - Makerere university sports tutor Lawrence Kavuma will lead a team of 22 sportsmen to the World University Games that start tomorrow in Belgrade, Serbia. The contingent, a bulk of them from Makerere University, left yesterday afternoon and will join a three-man advance team already in Belgrade. “Most of the athletes making the trip have ben facilitated by their respective universities,” explained Uganda national university sports federation vice president Vincent Kisenyi.
