ARUA and Jolly Joy PS booked berths to the semi-finals of the Coca-Cola U-14 Schools Cup yesterday.

The West Nile region giants Arua saw off Murchison Bay PS (Nakawa) in the quarterfinals through goals by Gadafi Wahab and Bernard Sibo.

On their part the Kawempe champions Jolly Joy beat home boys Oguti P/S by a similar margin with strikes by Medi Kyeyune and Faizal Ssekyanzi.

Arua takes on either New Life Education Centre of Entebbe who overpowered Kahunga Bunyonyi 3-2 via a penalty shoot out.

Jolly Joy will take on Nakivubo Blue, 3-1 conquerors of Mackay Memorial through another shootout. The two had tied 3-3 after regulation time.

Meanwhile, Karamoja giants Moroto P/S made a surprise late arrival on day-three of the competition Wednesday. Because of their efforts, organisers have rewarded the late comers with a set of uniforms and an exhibition match against hosts Rock View P/S today.

“Our problem is poor communication. Otherwise, my boys are always very eager to compete. But we are happy to at least play a friendly match,” said Moroto coach Martin Akol.
