At least 146 suspected idlers were arrested during Radio Simba’s Ekiggunda show at Nakivubo Stadium on Sunday. The Police spokesperson, Judith Nabakooba, said yesterday that suspects were detained at Old Kampala Police Station.
“They committed various offences ranging from smoking opium, snatching phones and ladies’ bags and fighting,†Nabakooba explained, adding that the suspects would be taken to court.
She stated that the Police had intensified community policing to discourage the youth from smoking marijuana.
Commenting on the increased murders in the city and its suburbs, Nabakooba said a force to respond to emergency calls like murder had been established at city Police Stations.
