MINNESOTA based welterweight pugilist Mohammed “The African Assassin” Kayongo, will take on Jamar Patterson in an eight round non-title fight at the Saint Paul Armory in Minnesota on Saturday.

The Ugandan fighter is one of two home boys featuring on one card dubbed “Glory”, together with undefeated featherweight Ismail “Sharp Shooter” Muwendo.

Power puncher Kayongo, returns to the ring since October and, according to his promoters, the fight is meant to improve his record and prepare him get back into the world title circles.

Kayongo goes into the fight with a 14-2-1, (10 KOs) record. He has two wins in his last three fights.

The upbeat Kayongo will look to put a blemish on New York’s Jamar Patterson’s undefeated (8-0) record.

Muwendo will be gunning for his fourth career win when he takes on a yet to be known opponent. The Ugandan fighter is now (3-0, 2 KOS).

Former world champion Robert Kamya’s fight against Caleb Truax has been called off.
