Businessman murdered
KAMPALA-Businessman, Gerald Muhinyi died on Friday night while being rushed to Mulago Hospital after being shot at his residence in Kinawataka, a city suburb. Police said, three armed assailants masqueraded as UMEME employees crosschecking electrical connections to access Muhinyi’s compound. “The gateman allowed them in and they insisted they wanted to see Muhinyi. When he came out, one shot him in the chest,” Police deputy spokesperson, Samson Lubega said. The attackers fled, prompting the terrified family members to call an ambulance. Police say investigations indicate that business wrangles could be behind Muhinyi’s death. Ben Kigozi, suspected to be one of the attackers, has been arrested and will be charged with murder. Muhinyi owned several shops dealing in electrical appliances.
