<b>Woman held over murder</b><br>MUKONO-The Police are holding a 46-year-old woman over strangling her husband to death and hanging his body by a rope. Urita Nalugo of Nantabulirwa in Goma sub-county, fought with Steven Kajubi, 50, before strangling him.

MUKONO-The Police are holding a 46-year-old woman over strangling her husband to death and hanging his body by a rope. Urita Nalugo of Nantabulirwa in Goma sub-county, fought with Steven Kajubi, 50, before strangling him. Police officer Moses Byabagye said Kajubi could not have hanged himself in a house where he could hardly stand upright.

Bukenya hails former premier
MASAKA-Vice-President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya has commended former Buganda premier Joseph Mulwanyammuli Semwogerere for his role in the talks between the central and Mengo governments concerning ‘ebyaffe’ (kingdom property). Addressing mourners at the funeral of Bernadette Nantale, mother to Semwogerere, the VP said the former premier followed what Kabaka Ronald Mutebi asked him to do, yet he was criticised by some people.

MP decries interference
WAKISO-Entebbe Municipality MP Muhammad Kawuma has complained that political interference from his opponents is hampering his work. Kawuma of the Democratic Party, lamented that it was impossible for him to organise public rallies without Police interference sent by opponents. He was recently speaking at a Scorecard Community Forum at the Airport View Hotel, Entebbe. The voters forum evaluates the performance of MPs.

AIDS activists urged on laws
KAMPALA-HIV/AIDS activists have been told to lobby for a change in laws that hinder the fight against the disease. The legal officer of the Uganda Network on Law Ethics and HIV/AIDS, Onesmus Matsiko, cited the customary laws that encourage polygamy, which has contributed to the increased spread of the virus. Matsiko was addressing widows and women living with HIV/AIDS at Hotel Triangle recently.
