Bukedde will on Wednesday start a special jobs pullout in the newspaper.

The eight-paged pullout, called ‘Emirimu gigino’, will be the first in The New Vision’s sister paper.

“It is going to be a great and exciting experience for our readers and later our listeners and viewers,” according to Vision Group’s advertising manager Godfrey Mulengi.

“After solid research, our deep understanding and respect for our readership, we discovered that there was a gap, which we will fill with this innovation.”

This will be Vision Group’s second biggest job platform, coming after the successful and revamped Job Mart section in The New Vision every Monday.

The pullout, Mulengi says, will “specifically appeal to the informal sector, small enterprises, Buganda and central regions, and other employment opportunities relevant to Bukedde audiences all over the country.”

It will be a directory and listing of available jobs. It will also give tips on how one can get through interviews, maintain or create a job opportunity.

The pull-out will also carry inspirational stories of successful entrepreneurs and careers.

“For people developing their careers and businesses, it will be a vital package to read,” Mulengi said.

“It is also Vision Group’s culture and style to innovate and excel. The growth in Bukedde sales has not been accidental. It has been as a result of strong innovation and focused approach aimed at meeting the needs of our readership,” he said.

The content in the pullout will top-up the existing specialised content on the different days. These include farming and sports on Monday, Ssenga on Tuesday, Ono ye Kampala, Kojja, Agaffa ku Bidduka on Thursday and the weekend package of entertainment and shopping. In two years, Bukedde has increased its sales from 14,000 to over 20,000 copies every day.
