WHO would not envy Christopher Mukiibi? By now when he should be counted as spent, he is back with this revival of a play that engages at two levels.

The more obvious one is the family level. The title suggests that a family is hard to keep up with.

And so Ssozi (Juma Kasujja) can even hardly make one. With a nagging, lazy and disrespectful wife who cannot give him any kids, he looks elsewhere to revive himself as a “total” man.

But his wife “beats” every new wife out of the home. The other is a society critique. We are presented with different characters; vagabonds, Muslim opinion leaders, rapists and petty thieves.

And we get a bunch of people who tell us about the vile nature of any human being.

From here, you peep into the darkness that shrouds marriage and also criticises society and its influence on personal character.

It is good for family viewing especially if you are not from estranged relationships. It closes this weekend.
