23 magistrates posted upcountry

TWENTY-THREE newly appointed Grade One magistrates have been posted to various upcountry stations. The Judiciary spokesperson, Erias Kisawuzi, said the deployment would improve on service delivery.

TWENTY-THREE newly appointed Grade One magistrates have been posted to various upcountry stations.

The Judiciary spokesperson, Erias Kisawuzi, said the deployment would improve on service delivery.

The new postings also affected other judicial officers. Isaac Muwata, who was in Gulu as a registrar, was posted to the High Court civil division, while Margaret Tibulya was moved from Buganda Road Court to Fort Portal as a deputy registrar.

Angundia Opifeni was moved from Hoima to the lands division of the High Court and Asiimwe Tadeo to Gulu as an assistant registrar.

Lillian Mwandha from the Inspectorate of Government was moved to Mbale as assistant registrar, while J.E. Keitirima was moved from the lands division to the Anti-Corruption Court.

Thaddeus Opesen was posted to the inspectorate division from Nakawa High Court.

Kisawuzi said the transfers were carried out on the advice of the Chief Justice and the Principal Judge.
