THE last time D’Mark Power stepped on court with the Nkumba Marines, the result was a massacre. Power defeated the Marines 110-65, in what remains the most lopsided encounter in the men’s first division league this season.

It was Nkumba’s opening match of the season and the defeat was seen as a sign of their weakness and Power’s strengths.
Eleven matches and six wins later, it is clear that result was not a fair reflection of Nkumba’s ability.

Timothy Odeke’s men are on course for the playoffs where they could ironically face Power. The defending champions are unbeaten and if they retain the title, they will face Nkumba in the playoffs if they finish in fourth place.

Defeating Power today would greatly help their cause although it is highly unlikely.
