FOR Nimrod Kaboha and KIU, this is the last chance to embark on a winning run in the national basketball league. If KIU’s playoffs dream is going to materialise, they simply have to keep on winning.

And the signs are good as KIU go into today’s encounter with tricky Knights Riders having done something they hadn’t all season –– win two straight games.

The second win, 82-62 over Nkumba Marines, was particularly memorable. Not only was it against a direct rival for the fourth playoff place, it was achieved with a commanding performance – the kind that has strangely eluded KIU’s talented squad all year.

Now they have to prove it wasn’t a flash in the pan. Kaboha had promised KIU could go through the second round unbeaten but watched in shock as Miracle Eagles condemned his side to defeat,
88-80, in the very first game.

Riders, who lost the first round meeting 58-41, may be battling relegation. But they are capable of anything as shown in the 81-80 victory over Ndejje Angles.
