POSTA Uganda has been lauded for the big transformation it has undergone since it was established two years ago.
Aggrey Awori, the information and communication technology minister, said the firm, which started with a lot of difficulties had utilised its assets well.

Awori was speaking at the launch of the Phila-Africa 2009 Stamp Exhibition at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel last week.
“We are witnessing one example of Posta Uganda’s efforts to make its influence felt in Uganda and beyond,” he said.

Proscovia Njuki, the Posta Uganda the board of directors chairperson, said the fact that Uganda was seconded by the rest of Africa to host the exhibition s event was a testimony of the raising confidence that Posta Uganda is gaining from a cross-section of its stakeholders.

She added that it was an indication that the transformation strategies that were set two years ago were bearing fruit.
The exhibition wwas held under the theme, “Youth and Sports in Africa”.
It drew participants from South Africa, Malawi, Tanzania, Burundi, Ethiopia, Nigeria.

The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU), Mrs. Rodah Masaviru and officials from Uganda Communications Commission.
