Mugabe foiled in doubles, eyes singles

HOPES of a Ugandan victory in one of the events of Kampala F1 Futures tennis tournament faded after Robert Buyinza and Duncan Mugabe fell out of the doubles contest at Lugogo yesterday.

HOPES of a Ugandan victory in one of the events of Kampala F1 Futures tennis tournament faded after Robert Buyinza and Duncan Mugabe fell out of the doubles contest at Lugogo yesterday.

Uganda’s first casuality was Robert Buyinza, with his partner Matthew Asciak, from Malta, who fell at court one to Destiny Ford Da Silva of Nigeria and Daouda Ndiaye from Senegal.

Duncan Mugabe was forced out after his partner Sunday Emmanuel of Nigeria withdrew with an injury.
However Mugabe, will continue his pursuit of the singles title in the Sheraton Kampala sponsored tournament today, when he plays against Malta qualifier Asciak.
