PROFESSIONALl boxer, Badru “Mr. Crush” Lusambya will only sign a contract with LE Boxing Promotion only if they can organise for him a least three top class fights at the continental level.

Lusambya, ranked second by the World Boxing Organization and an African Boxing Union junior middleweight champion, will be fighting Tanzanian Mada Maugo in Kampala on October 18.

Speaking at the fight launch yesterday, Lusambya said some promoters lead boxers into fake contracts, a situation that has frustrated many would-be world champions.

“If a promotion company gives me a deal for profitable fights I will definitely deal with them. These days’ boxers are more vigilant than before. I need first to test the new promoter with three fights before signing with them a long term contract”, Lusambya said.

LE Boxing Promotion in conjunction with The New Club Obligato are organising for Lusambya a WBO title fight.

Lusambya announced he will retire in two years after winning the world title and defending it once.

“It’s healthy for a boxer to retire before damage takes its toll on him. Boxers need to find alternative earnings early enough if they are to survive side effects”, he warned fellow boxers.
