THE Ndejje University Angels will go into fourth position in the MTN-FUBA men’s first division with a win over the KCC Lions today at YMCA courts.

It is the position Walker Obedi’s side are desperate to secure by the end of the regular season and victory will take them a step closer to achieving their aim.

In fact, if the Angels pull off a victory, as they are indeed expected to, it will mark the first time since the start of the second round that they would have risen into the playoffs zone.

After today, the Angels will have three games left in the regular season but none of them is straightforward.

In fact, Obedi’s side will be the underdogs in all those fixtures – against champions D’Mark Power, KIU and Nkumba Marines.

The latter two are Ndejje’s direct rivals for fourth place and currently sit one point ahead of the Angels in the standings so they will not be easy to dispatch.

All this means the Angels cannot afford defeat against the Lions, who are the division’s whipping boys. Baker Mande’s team occupy last position having won just one of their 13 matches.

The Lions have lost eight in a row and look condemned to relegation. Still, with five games to go for KCC, any potential miraculous escape must start now.
