THE Eastern African Fine Coffees Association (EAFCA) has launched a competition to promote domestic consumption of coffee. Dubbed “my coffee story competitionâ€, it aims to boost the low intake of coffee and eliminate the negative myths about the impact of coffee to one’s health.
The most intriguing experience about the impact of coffee on health will win an espresso machine, Philip Gitao, the association’s executive director said.
He added,“The domestic consumption of coffee is still low by 1% yet Uganda is the second largest producer of coffee in Africa.â€
Speaking at a press conference to mark EAFCA’s 10th anniversary at Serena Hotel Kampala last week, Gitao said the contest will see coffee consumers take coffee and fill out forms at Good African Coffee outlets, Java, Café pap, Ban café, and Mocha Terrace in Kampala.
