SUPER league clubs umbrella body SDCA has warned Express FC official Kavuma Kabenge against dragging the Uganda Super League in his court case.

The clubs however concurred with Kabenge that the issues he raised in his court petition were in line with the development of Uganda’s football.

In a meeting at FUFA House, Mengo on Saturday, the clubs also noted that the process Kabenge has taken in addressing football matters was not the best, more so of not involving SDCA, which he directly subscribes to.

“We clearly told him to leave out the Super League in the case, that one had no debate and he understood it” Col. Jackson “Bell” Tushabe said after the meeting.

The meeting attended by all SDCA member clubs with the exception embattled Nalubaale FC, had Kabenge giving an account of why he had gone to court.

“We supported his ideas. They are good for the development of the game,” Tushabe explained.

“Our only problem was the timing which threatens the FUFA elections, the league kick off and the process he used.

“We shall talk to him tomorrow (today) and find a way forward.”
Tushabe added that the case might take about two years to resolve and this will drastically affect football in the country and they as SDCA can not allow this to happen.

“Kabenge might be having issues but the association should know and also get involved.”

Tushabe explained further that they want the SDCA to be involved in issues of advocacy in a bid to improve the standard of the game.
The official said that improved standards would take the game to a higher level.

Tushabe said that disagreements should be ironed out using various avenues provided for by the FUFA constitution.

“That is the way to go and we will support such moves. We are going to discuss and also find a way forward.”

Express want a court order restraining FUFA from organising football-related activities until their legal status is proven.
