APAC - A Finish-based NGO has donated oxen and agricultural inputs worth sh18m to persons with disabilities. Tuula Heima-Tirkkonen, the Abilis Foundation coordinator, said the items included groundnut seeds, ox-plough, pangas and hand-hoes. She told a meeting of district officials last Wednesday that persons with disabilities are often denied access to income-generating programmes.
US varsity gives sh13m books
GULU - The Faculty of Science at Gulu University has received 13 textbooks worth $1,500 (about sh13m) from City University of New York in the US. The books were handed over to the university secretary, Vincent Mboti Okoth-Ogola, on Friday. Okoth-Ogola said the books would boost the newly-started masters programme in micro-biology.
