THE long list of supporting artistes at Dr. Tee’s Kawulu album launch on Friday tells the first story. From the adrenalin-rising Obsessions, Aziz Azion to Silver Kyagulanyi, Mathias Walukagga and Eagles Band.

They were paying homage to an artiste who plays a key production role in the local industry especially in band music where he is considered a leading producer.

The live performance provided an exciting break from the miming sessions at most local concerts. Spicing this up was Bukedde FM, presenter Katongole Omutongole whose cheeky jokes excited the audience.

You could not complain that the audience was sparse with the venue being Kampala Serena Hotel and tickets going for sh20,000 and sh50,000. The notable attendees included businessman, Godfrey Kirumira, among others.

Dr. Tee hit the stage shortly after 11.00pm in a white suit and served fans with his melodious vocals on both old and new songs which sounded like they will achieve some good scores. Kabogere and Kaaba Mpola raised the mood.

On the popular gospel collaboration Yeggwe Anyamba, Dr. Tee, shared the stage with Silver Kyagulanyi to climax the show at mid-night.

The concert was organised partly for charity, with proceeds dedicated to the support of cancer patients through Mulago Hospital’s Cancer Institute. Bukedde FM was the main sponsor. Others included print media comprising Bukedde, The New Vision, The Monitor and broadcasters Beat, Capital and Radio One.

Kawulu is Dr. Tee’s fifth album. He has spent most of his time producing for all the artistes who escorted him in addition to many others including Da Twins, Bobi Wine, Juliana Kanyomozi, Chameleone and the Late Paul Kafeero (R.I.P).
