NATIONAL coach Majidah Nantanda has said that the hurdle against Rwanda in the U-20 Women World Cup qualifiers is virtually conqurred.

Uganda beat Rwanda 2-1 in the first leg preliminary round at Nakivubo on Saturday with Nantanda’s side absorbing second half pressure and scoring a late winner.

“Unless they change their team for the second leg, my girls are genuinely young with high flexibility unlike them. They can’t catch up with our speed,” Nantanda boasted after the game at Nakivubo. The team will resume residential training mid this week in preparation for the return leg on November 7.

Nantanda described her side as superior compared to the Rwandans in both skill and tactics, but prayed that two of her players, who missed the Kampala leg can make it for the second leg.

Nantanda had planned to have Habiba Namalwa with Aisha Kaggwa upfront but she opted Hadija Nampiijja because Kaggwa did not have a passport. It was the same case with central defender Gladys Nakitto.

Nantanda’s Rwandan counterpart coach Grace Nyinawumuntu retorted that although she hopes to maintain her team her game plan in Kigali would enable her overturn the deficit when their chance to play at home comes next month.
