KIBAALE-The Police have arrested a manager of a fuel station alleged to have embezzled over sh70m belonging to his employer. The district acting criminal investigations officer, Eric Wabwire, said the management of Star Light Service Station became suspicious when Joseph Katusabe began presenting suspect returns to Uganda Revenue Authority, which prompted the company to carry out an audit exercise that unearthed financial irregularities. Katusabe is currently being detained at Kibaale Police Station and will be charged with embezzlement and causing financial loss to the company.

Bank donates materials
KASESE-Barclays Bank on October 25 donated scholastic materials worth sh3m to Mount Rwenzori Girls Secondary School in Kilembe sub-county. Speaking at the hand-over of the items which included text books, geometry sets, pens and saving boxes, the acting branch manager, Godfrey Ssebwami, said the exercise was part of the Bank’s social responsibility. He said Barclays Bank gives out over sh50m to disadvantaged groups like orphans every quarter countrywide.The head teacher, Sarah Namuli, thanked the Bank for choosing the school out of over 200 schools in the district.
