UGANDA Telecom Kobs hopes of winning a major trophy this season continued to fade when they suffered a 5-0 defeat to Entebbe Mongers in the quarter-finals of the Broadband rugby sevens circuit at Kampala rugby club over the weekend.

Mongers, who early this year denied Kobs a league trophy with 7-7 draw, snatched a try courtesy of Andrew Olweny to relegate the former league champions to the plate bracket in the sevens tournament.

Kobs defeat widened the MTN Heathens chances of winning all the three major trophies this season having claimed both the league and the second most prestigious Uganda Cup.

Heathens beat Hima Impis 41-10 in the second leg final with Benon Kiiza scoring two tries and Robert Seguya, Brian Kikawa and Jude Kirimundu each managing one. JB. Semakula and Hilary Juma scored the two tries for Impis.
In the semi-finals Makerere Impis saw off Mongers 12-7 while Heathens defeated G4S Pirates 19-0.

After the Jinja and the final leg at Kyadondo, Heathens leads the table standings with 40 points. Kobs and Pirates are tied in second place with 24 points each.
