FOUR Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party stalwarts in Kasese district have withdrawn from politics to serve as ministers in the recently formalised Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Kingdom.

The Omusinga (king), Charles Wesley Mumbere, announced this on Sunday at the swearing-in ceremony of those he appointed as deputy ministers in the kingdom which comprises the Bakonzo and Bamba ethnic groups.

“I am happy to announce that some of the politicians I appointed as ministers to work in the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu have decided to leave politics so that they can serve for the Obusinga,” Mumbere said.

The group includes the Kasese district FDC secretary general, Jackson Mbaju, who was appointed as Attorney General, Moses Kalemba, a mobiliser for the party, Kameruni Isingoma, who has been the personal secretary to the Kasese district Woman MP and Patrick Nyamunungu, who has been a member on the party executive committee for Busongora South constituency.

In an interview with The New Vision, Nyamunungu said he quit politics to serve his tribe better.
