Kabaka should talk to all stakeholders

EDITOR—If it is fine for the Kabaka to hold talks with the President then it should also be okay for him to hold talks with all the other opposition leaders. He will then have the opportunity to judge for himself which party thinks like him and his kingdom and who his real friends are. I think it is imperative the Kabaka has these cultural talks with other stakeholders in the country.

It will help Buganda’s positions on various issues to be understood by all. Remember what is good for the goose is good for the gander. What one government writes into law can legally be thrown out by the next!

EDITOR—I have read Peter Mulira’s article, “Nothing to prevent the Kabaka holding talks with the President”. Like it or not, cultural rigidity cannot solve our problems. We, the Baganda, have seen this in the colonial days, in Obote’s days and now under Musevini. The central government is always stronger!
