FUFA will hold an extra-ordinary assembly before March to review the body’s constitution. This follows a recommendation by the world soccer governing body FIFA to fill the gaps in the current constitution.

“FIFA looked at our constitution and advised us to review it and address the court issues immediately.

The executive will appoint people to review it,” said Mulindwa on Saturday. The assembly will follow a constitutional review process and ratify changes to it in a move to stave off more anticipated court battles of the body’s legality.

Mulindwa was returned unopposed at the assembly in Arua that was attended by FIFA observer Kalusha Bwalya. Bwalya called for reconciliation to help heal the wounds in Ugandan football.

Express FC is currently in court contesting FUFA’s legality as the supreme football governing body in the country.
