INTERNATIONAL Boxing Organisation (IBO) featherweight champion Jackson Asiku is the uganda telecom USPA sports personality for November, writes Swalley Kenyi.

The scribes yesterday voted Asiku their sports personality for the second time, having taken the accolade in April when he clinched the vacant IBF Australasian super featherweight title.

He won the November award after taking the IBO featherweight title when he knocked out Mexican Heriberto Ruiz in the eighth round in Sydney, Australia.

Asiku came ahead of his only challenger Heathens rugby team, who made the list for winning the Hima and Broadband rugby tournaments during the month.

The assembly also commended golfer Stephen Kasaija for winning the Rwanda Open, the Uganda U-19 girls’ cricket team for winning the inaugural ICC Africa Cup title, the U-20 women soccer team and Mohammed Kayongo, who excelled in soccer and boxing respectively.
