The hospital ward can be the most sombre and depressing place for anyone, but especially so for children. It is so encouraging to have someone lighten up dark days in hospital, something some children enjoyed last week.

Power FM launched a campaign to spread the Christmas cheer to children admitted in major hospitals in Kampala.

From December 7 to December 15, some Power FM staff visited Rubaga, Mulago, Nsambya and Mengo Hospitals to liven up the sick children admitted in various children’s wards.

With the support of utl, Nice and Lovely and Rusadia Florists, Power FM decorated the wards, donated Christmas gifts and goodies and spent some time playing with the children.

“Our main aim was to spread joy and love to these hurting little ones.

As children, we did not want them to be denied the happiness of the Christmas season, and more importantly we wanted them to know the reason for the season,” said Allan Ssempala, the audience relations manager.
