EDITOR—Recently when the workers of the Uganda National Roads Authority were working on the road drainage on the main street on the Kabale-Kisoro road, they found a broken sewage pipe and sewage was leaking into the water drainage channels.

When they complained, the town clerk, Johnson Baryantuma Munono, closed all the shops along the street. This was just two days to Christmas.

But that leakage has been flowing into the main road for over six months now along and near Finca Bank. In his office, Baryantuma has a certificate of completion of sewage systems in Kabale from the National Water and Sewerage Corporation yet even the biggest portion of the buildings on the main street of Kabale have no sewage facilities!

The main road along the Kabale-Mbarara Road between the police barracks and Total petrol station has almost been closed out because part of it has become a washing bay! This is unacceptable.
