ROMANIAN coach Dorian Marin will watch his new club Nalubaale FC play Masaka in the soccer Super League on Sunday. Marin is finally expected to arrive in the country tomorrow, bringing to an end a month-long wait for him.

The 48-year-old tactician, who has virtually completed term negotiations over his two-year deal, will arrive at Entebbe Airport aboard Egypt Air from Syria.

“He just can not wait to get started at the club and is expected to attend Nalubaale’s home fixture against Masaka on Sunday,” a club source disclosed yesterday.

Marin, who has been a football coach since 1991 and holds a UEFA ‘A’ coaching licence, has worked in Eritrea, Romania and Syria.

He was in charge of the Eritrean team that humiliated Kenya’s Harambe Stars at last year’s 2008 Nations Cup qualifiers.
Marin, married to a Syrian lady, is fluent in English, Arabic, Italian and French.

Marin will replace George Ssimwogerere, who was suspended for a month following a series of indifferent results.

James Magala has been club caretaker coach and is likely to remain an assistant to Marin.
Marin’s first assignment will be preserving Nalubaale’s top-flight status before pushing for honour on the domestic front next season.

Julius Mulindwa’s masterful performance inspired Bunamwaya to a 2-0 victory over visitors Kinyara at Nakivubo yesterday.
The utility defender-cum- striker headed home Bunamwaya’s opener at the start of the second half.

Mulindwa was fouled in the box minutes later, and Tony Odur netted from the resultant spot kick for his sixth goal of the season — the same number as leading scorers Oscar Kadenge of Villa, KCC’s Hamis Kitagenda and Ediofe’s Ceaser Okhuti.

The talismanic striker was however stretched off with a dislocated shoulder moments later.

Today, KCC coach Moses Basena expects his side to end a menacing goal draught when they face Iganga in the Super League at Nakivubo.

KCC that has managed only 11 goals in nine games, last scored in all competitions on November 30.

Vincent Kayizzi who returns from suspension and lead striker Hamis Kitagenda shoulder the team’s hopes.

“Iganga is a stubborn team against any opposition but I think we will handle them,” Basena stated.
