JINJA - Slum Women’s Initiative for Development, a non government organisation, will embark on an environment conservation campaign. According to Joyce Nangobi, the project manager, slum dwellers will be sensitised on solid waste management, afforestation and other practices geared at improving the sanitary conditions. She added that they will also offer psycho-social counselling and reproductive health services.The beneficiaries are Walukuba Housing Estate, Soweto, Mpumudde, Budhumbuli and Mafubira.

Earth wall buries man
NJERU - An earth wall buried a 28-year-old man on Wednesday at an excavating quarry in Namuwaya Zone. The village chief, Geoffrey Sendawula, confirmed that Ismail Mubiru died instantly. His body was taken to Jinja Hospital.
