JOSEPH Kiwalabye was not surprised by the news that he scored aggregate eight in last year’s O’level exams. The star from Uganda Martyrs Namugongo was at his parents’ home in Soweto, Masaka municipality, watching CNN when The New Vision broke the news of his success.

“I expected it and I am sure I will get everything I wish in the academic line,” he said confidently.

Kiwalabye wants to become a medical doctor and believes that Namugongo will enable him achieve his goal.

“Studying from a good school helped a lot in getting those aggregates,” he said, adding that he would only be surprised if he did not score aggregate eight.

“I read hard and I was always among the best five in my class right from S1. Why then would I not be among the best students in the finals?” he asked. His mother, prosy Mutumba, is the principle agricultural officer for Masaka district, while his father, Joseph Mutumba works with an NGO in Juba, South Sudan.
