EDITOR—We refer to your story entitled, “ICT ministry asked to account for CHOGM funds†published on Monday. The article seems to insinuate that the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) failed to account for funds released to it for CHOGM activities.
EDITOR—We refer to your story entitled, “ICT ministry asked to account for CHOGM funds†published on Monday. The article seems to insinuate that the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) failed to account for funds released to it for CHOGM activities.
On the contrary, the minister of ICT and other ministry officials were commended by the parliamentary select committee on CHOGM for the good performance of the ICT sector in general and CHOGM ICT activities in particular.
In addition, the committee asked the ministry to provide additional documents, not receipts, relating to the CHOGM activities undertaken to enable the committee complete its report on assessment of the overall performance of the CHOGM event in terms of organisation and accountability, as per the Committee’s mandate.
