IN the beginning, things were fine and we went on well. I was impressed by, especially, her looks. She was smart for the evening and indeed for the date. She really looked beautiful, elegant and presentable.

She was easy to talk to and the conversation rolled on well. She told me a lot about her life. She told me that she had sat for S.6 and was doing some singing during her vacation. But she also listened to me. I liked that.

So, are you launching a move?

Actually, I was so taken up that I even asked her to be my lover - already. She said she would think about it.

But as the date went on, there are certain things I noticed about her that, somehow, made me change my mind. She got drunk and lost it.

I had actually been wondering how a school girl could be capable of taking so much alcohol. But since we were just dating for the first time, I decided I had no right to stop her.

You think she lied to you?
Yes, she did. That drinking is not for a schoolgirl. Even then, I had promised to take her to places she has never been to before. That is how we arranged to meet the following day. When I called her, she was in Kasubi at a club called Verona. I wondered which parent can allow her girl to be club-trotting moreover at that time. Anyway, I decided to go there and say hello and what did I find? She was on stage – you know those karaoke girls; dancing! I lost interest. I am a respectable guy, who has built my own class; how can I befriend a Karaoke girl?

You just took off?
No, I made sure she saw me. I even said hello. Since then she has been calling me but I have ignored the calls. I don’t think I can continue the relationship.

I was disappointed from the word go! I expected a very charming gentleman. He was so quiet and it was instead me trying to start up a conversation. I thought that was a man’s job! I even asked him why he has few words and he replied that it was his nature. But eventually, I wished he hadn’t talked at all because when he eventually did, I could not make any sense out of it.

Did you enjoy his company?
No! I switched off when he told me he was a student. Look, I am a student, what would I be looking for in a fellow student? Students don’t interest me. Even when he later tried to engage me in a conversation, I just pretended because already my mind was off. He was also a liar. He told me he was 24 years but he looked younger. He should be about 22 or less.

But I am told you met again
He wanted to take me out that very evening. So, not to annoy him, I promised him some other day. But I never meant it. So when he called me the following day, I told him I was busy but he insisted on coming. When he arrived, I decided to be plain. I told him it was not necessary for us to meet again because I was no longer interested in him. I even deleted his number from my phone in his face.
