THE Afro-Arab youth conference needs more funds to cater for the extra delegates. The spokesperson, Joseph Kasozi, said Yemen brought 210 delegates instead of 70, Sudan 300 instead of 150, while Libya increased the number from 150 to 350.

This, he said, constrained the budget in addition to causing problems of accommodation for Ugandan delegates.
Kasozi, who also the Youth MP for the central region, on Tuesday said: “We are negotiating with the (gender) ministry such that we get more money.”

In a related development, Ugandan delegates, who had earlier wanted to boycott the meeting over allowances and sharing of beds in hotels, yesterday attended after meeting the security ministry, Amama Mbabazi.

The youth minister, James Kinobe, and the Police chief, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura attended.

Mbabazi said he would talk to President Museveni and resolve their grievances.
