AN away draw saw Super League leaders Police lose two crucial points on a day that SC Villa closed in on the cops with a 4-0 demolition of champions URA.
Police were saved from their first defeat in 17 matches by a late Christopher Lubega equaliser after hosts Biharwe went into the lead through a Abdu Mutasa penalty.
At Namboole, Oscar Kadenge rediscovered his scoring form by putting Villa ahead, before Stephen Bengo, Mike Azira and Emma Okwir’s spectacular free kick ensured that the 17-time champions pulled to five points behind Police.
Express was scheduled to take on KCC in yesterday’s late kick-off under floodlights in the second Namboole match. Both matches were beamed live across Africa on GTV.
Police, facing second from bottom Biharwe at Kakyeka, were 1-0 down at half-time after Abdu Mutasa scored from the spot. Musa Kafeero had brought down Muhammad Kyagambiddwa in the forbidden area.
Christopher Lubega headed in the cops’ equaliser from a Musa Kafeero corner kick. Action continues today.
