Transfers for basketball players Norman and Donna Blick, and Carol Bisereko to the KCC Lions have stalled. The three have for long desired to leave the Nkumba Marines for the newly promoted division I side, who say that they have already agreed personal terms. The Marines claim that the players still have a year remaining on their contracts which they should play out. The season starts next week. The Lions’ manager Joy Olinga conceded that they don’t have the power to decide the destiny of their targets.

Saku in the ring
Africa welterweight champion Hassan “The Hitman” Saku returns this Friday with a fight against Denmark’s Allan Vester at the NRGi Arena in Aarhus, Denmark. Saku is returning after losing to Estonian Albert Starikov recently, the loss his manager says was unfair. “Hassan lost unfairly. He technically won the fight, but they stole it for him,” Eddie Bazira, Saku’s manager said of the fight, adding that the camp was now thinking positively.

Town View out
Bugiri’s Town View Academy has been banned for three years after causing the abandonment of their final game against Greenhill in the district Schools Coca-Cola soccer championship. Town View players protested the referee’s decision to award a goal to Greenhill. The match played at Bukooli College on Monday, saw referee Anthony Mashisha allow a goal that gave Greenhill a 2-1 lead in the 80th minute, as Town View players and supporters harassed the referee.
