Disrespect for kids!

One cannot help sympathise with the children. Will anyone ever save school children from this political culture?

As far as I can remember, whenever a president or minister visits an area, the children are mobilised to sing songs or perform plays or simply line the road.

They endure long periods of hunger and hot sun. Surprisingly, with the increasing awareness and rhetoric in Uganda about the rights of children, this subject has absolutely escaped mention.

The political culture involving school children does not inculcate values of patriotism judging from our past, when as children, we were often paraded to sing to Milton Obote and Idi Amin.
