THE High Court in Gulu has acquitted 21 of the 25 suspects accused of killing more than 100 cattle belonging to pastoralists, commonly referred to as Balaalo, reports Patrick Opio.

The incident occurred in October last year at Tarogali village in Apac district.

The deputy court registrar, Tom Chetumai, said the Director of Public Prosecutions, Richard Butera, had exonerated the suspects of wrongdoing. They include Ibuje LC3 chairman, Geoffrey Oyuru and LC5 councillor Odongo Asanti.

But Morris Otucu, Emmanuel Abak, Geoffrey Odongo and Julio Ojuka were returned to prison because they were still being investigated.
