THE Smirnoff Club Silk Street Bash is back with a bang as it will be a celebration of 10 years since the party was taken from the club to the streets. Dubbed Smirnoff Reav (pronounced Rave), the event kicking off at 7:00pm and priced at sh10,000, will be held on April 26.

Nigeria’s 2Face Idibia is the lead artiste. He will be accompanied by locals Ragga Dee, Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, Juliana, Infinity and Kombat Dancers. DJ Shiru will spice up the event with video mixing. Addressing the press recently, Club Silk MD Elvis Sekyanzi said this time the stage will not be the usual run-of-the-mill.

“It will be innovative in its design and construction. Apart from that, unlike previous street jams, the stage will be further down the road to allow more room for the jammers to dance.”

Promotions for the jam will be held in Club Silk. They will include Smirnoff Ice cocktail mix contests, dance competitions, VJ mixing, DJ spinning and Play Station contests. Smirnoff’s brand manager Juliana Kaggwa promised many prizes. “Winners in different categories will get ipods, skull caps, flash disks, T-shirts and caps.”

Also, as a drive up to the event, Smirnoff consumers have a chance to join the Smirnoff Hall of Fame, which entitles them to a silver card entry to Club Silk and a case of Smirnoff every month for a year. The grand draw of the Hall of Fame participants will be held at the street jam.

Management has promised maximum security and dazzling lights, whose highlight will be felt at the stroke of midnight.
