What inspired you to contest?
My buddies complemented my height, figure and looks, which gave me the courage to contest.

What did you expect out of it all?
I did not plan for anything because I thought the most I could achieve was second runner-up position. This was because I have never heard of any Kenyan who has won such pageants. It is a great achievement, but no party so far.

Now, with a car, you are rubbing shoulders with other girls who get cars from boyfriends.
No this is different. The pageant is a project with objectives. I spent weeks training in modelling in order to get the title, not the car. Those who get cars from men have to pay in kind, which is not my case.

So what is your opinion on cross-generation sex?
It is bad. It is evil, and has accelerated the spread of HIV/AIDS and encourages laziness. Everyone should work hard for her future.

Do you know the cause?
Yeah! Two things: Greed and peer pressure. Girls want money fast without working and men are selfish. A man is married but wastes a girl’s future and the girls are ignorant.

What kind of men annoy you?
I don’t like married men who date young girls. I wonder why a man with a beautiful wife, money and everything behaves irresponsibly. They annoy me.

Are university girls are only interested in money?
No. There are those in stable relationships while mature and working people out there are cheating on each other. Anyway, I am not their spokesman, but I believe love has no formula.

So how do you go about your relationship?
Mine is a young relationship. I just got into a relationship for the first time. It started as a friendship but, recently, we got intimate. He is mature in reasoning, and caring.

Would you drop him because of your new status?
No. My relationship and the title are separate.

What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

But most girls believe beauty is in the pockets?
No. I disagree. Looking at men’s pockets is detrimental. It becomes a give and take business, which in most cases, leads to cross-generation sex and prostitution.
