KATWE and other city slums are to get 35 vault toilets. The toilets, which are part of the Kampala Integrated Environmental Management Project (KIEMP),will be built by Spider Construction.
The toilets are part of the 60-month 6.6 million euros project, which aims at improving conditions of the urban poor, sources said.
“The project is co-financed by the Belgian Cooperation with over 5m euros, the Government 1.1m euros and Kampala City Council 500,000 euros,†the KIEMP website said.
