Poor research
The Civil society Budget Advocacy Group on Tuesday was embarrassed when they presented to the parliamentary agricultural committee a shallow research study that had far less information than the MPs expected from such a group. The irked MPs had no alternative but to tell them to go back and do more research on what they wanted to present to the august House. We hope the Advocacy Group now know that doing research is not a simple matter.

Lukooya snubbed
On Saturday, the Mukono district chairman, Francis Lukooya, was barred from presenting his donation of sh5m to Kabaka Mutebi in Lugazi. Lukooya, a long time critic of the Kabaka, felt it was time to mend fences with Mutebi but the irate group of area youth booed him and barred him from even attempting to address the Kabaka. It is hoped Lukooya now knows where power lies.

Youth irk Kabaka
Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi is irked by the idleness of the youth in Buganda. On April 26 he rapped them for hating to dig yet they have never stopped eating the food their aged relatives in rural areas grow. He said that if the youth want to waste time in cities looking for the non–existent white colour jobs, they should stop eating the food from the rural areas from where they flee for greener pastures. “It is time you woke up and realised that there is no gain without pain,” the Kabaka counselled them.

Kinobe under fire
Leaders are often dogged by demands from the people they lead. The Kabaka was recently asked by the Buganda Youth Council to bar the youth minister James Kinobe from ever featuring on CBS, Buganda kingdom’s radio station. They charged that he was decampaigning the kingdom programmes and insulting the Kabaka. The youth vowed to switch off their radios if Kinobe is hosted again on CBS.
