THE youth and all Ugandans should engage in activities that generate wealth, President Yoweri Museveni has urged. The President urged the youth to work hard and cautioned them against involvement in criminal acts.

He was speaking on Saturday during the wedding of Micah Rwahaiguru and Christine Kishaaki at St. James Cathedral Ruharo in Mbarara district.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rwahaiguru of Mbarara town, while the bride a daughter of the late Chris Kishaaki, who fought with Museveni and died in the bush war in Luweero.

The President commended the widow for the care she gave Christine, especially from the time she became a single parent.

“I want to thank Jane. Her husband died in the bush but she has managed to look after these children who were very young at the time their father died and now you can see Christine is wedding.”

Museveni, who paid school fees for Christine from primary school up to university, noted that the gesture would have been wasted if she had not been given excellent care by her mother.

He advised the couple to lead a fruitful marriage and gave them cash which he said was worth two cows.

The President promised to give them more cows after the foot-and-mouth disease in the west was contained.
